Agile Workforce Planning

Audience: Business Leaders, COO, Ops Directors, HR Directors & Business Partners, Finance Directors & Business Partners, all staff involved in Workforce Planning, People Analytics and/or Org. Design.

Why:

In the UK we currently have a Skills Gap, by 2030 we are expecting to have a Working Age Gap; use of Agile Workforce Planning enables businesses to increase margins by connecting engaged people with meaningful work.

Agile Workforce Planning vs Strategic Workforce Planning:

Agile Workforce Planning is about workforce planning in the real world; delivering a plan in a time of complexity. Traditional SWP has centred around ‘the plan’ being the endstate; Agile makes ‘delivery’ the endstate.

It accepts the fragmented nature of business strategy, so iterations can be delivered at speed. It has the flexibility to change based on new strategic direction, market disruption or wider external factors. It leverages People Analytics throughout the lifecycle of planning and delivery.

Crucially, whereas traditional SWP focused purely on the 3rd horizon of Workforce Planning (i.e 3yrs plus), Agile Workforce Planning can be applied across all three horizons: your in-year planning, your planning for the next financial year and your strategic plans.

The presentation will focus on the practical application of the Agile Workforce Planning methodology, including the use of People Analytics:

• Baseline – Agreeing your start point and approach (including Workforce Segmentation)

• Supply – Creating your supply forecast

• Demand – Establishing your demand forecast

• Gap Analysis – Understanding the gap between Supply & Demand

• Action Plan – Closing the gap between Supply & Demand

• Deliver – managing delivery of the plan through the lifecycle
